What it teaches
LeapFrog says the 20 games cover letters, numbers, shapes, colors, music and logic. The ABC keyboard introduces letter names, sounds and vocabulary. Activities include racing, color mixing, matching and memory-style play.
Important screen clarification
Earlier 2026 Toy Fair material described the product as screen-free, but the current consumer product clearly uses a color screen. We use the current product evidence and classify My First Gamer as a built-in-screen device. It therefore should not appear when a parent asks the Gift Finder for screen-free-only results.
Price and availability
Target currently lists My First Gamer in stock around the mid-$30 range, with retailer pricing subject to change. Because the games are built in, families do not need a separate child phone or tablet to use the core product.
Best fit
The strongest fit is a preschooler who wants a “big kid” handheld experience while parents still want age-targeted learning content. Families trying to minimize all screen exposure should instead compare screen-free and screen-light options.
