LEGO Pokémon Sprigatito, Fuecoco & Quaxly Battle 72158 Review

This $34.99 Compatible set packs three Paldea first-partner Pokémon and three SMART Tags into one battle-focused box. It is one of the stronger value expansions for a family that already owns a SMART Brick.

What children build

The set includes Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly with movable parts, plus a spinner that helps choose which two Pokémon battle. That three-character format gives siblings or friends more combinations than most lower-priced sets.

SMART Play requirement

Each Pokémon has a SMART Tag, but 72158 does not include a SMART Brick. The physical figures and spinner work without one; electronic reactions require a Brick from Pikachu 72164, Charizard vs. Jolteon 72167 or another All-in-One set.

Value

At $34.99, the main advantage is three tagged Pokémon rather than one or two. For families already inside the ecosystem, that creates a relatively low cost per new interactive character. For new buyers, the box price should not be mistaken for the cost of a complete electronic starter.

Screen and app use

Children can use the build and SMART interactions without a phone or tablet. Adults may use the SMART Assist app for existing Brick updates and settings. We classify this as responsive physical technology, not generative AI.

Strengths

  • Three Pokémon
  • Three SMART Tags
  • $34.99 current price
  • Repeatable spinner battle format

Tradeoffs

  • No SMART Brick included
  • Age 8+ rather than younger-entry fit
  • Additional starter cost for electronics
  • Small parts

Verdict

For an existing SMART Play household, 72158 is one of the best value expansions because one purchase adds three tagged Pokémon and a repeatable battle mechanism.
